Asthma Treatment

Asthma

Asthma is an ancient Greek word meaning ” panting or short- drawn breath.” It is the most troublesome of the respiratory diseases. The asthma patient gets frequent attacks of breathlessness in between which he is completely normal.

Symptoms

Patients suffering from asthma appear to be gasping for breath. Actually, they have more trouble exhaling than inhaling because the air passages of the small bronchi become clogged and constricted with mucus, thus making it difficult for the patient to breathe out. All asthmatics have more difficulty at night, especially during sleep. The onset of asthma is either gradual or abrupt. Sudden onsets are often preceded by a spell of coughing which may be associated with itching of the chin, the back of the neck or chest. When the onset is gradual, the attack is usually brought on by respiratory infection. A severe attack causes an increase in heartbeat and respiratory rates and the patient feels restless and fatigued. There may be coughing, tightness inthe chest, profuse sweating and vomiting. There may also be abdominal pain, especially if coughing is severe. Foggy weather aggravates the symptoms. An asthmatic attack begins when the bronchial tubes in the lungs become constricted. The tubes having become narrow, the inhaled air becomes trapped in the tiny air sacs at the end of the tubes, making the release of breath difficult. The wheezing sound identified with asthma is produced by the air being pushed through the narrowed bronchi.

Causes

Mainly bronchial in its symptoms, asthma is caused by a variety of factors. For many it is an allergic condition resulting from the reaction of the system to the weather, food, drugs, perfumes and other irritants which vary with different individuals. Allergies to dust are the most common. Some persons are sensitive to the various forms of dust like cotton dust, wheat dust and paper dust, some pollens, animal hair, fungi and insects, especially cockroaches. Foods which generally cause allergic reactions are wheat, eggs, milk, chocolates, beans, potato, pork and beef. For others, asthma may result from the abnormal body chemistry involving the system’s enzymes or a defect in muscular action within the lungs. Quite often, however, asthma is precipitated by a combination of allergic and non- allergic factors including emotional tension, air pollution, infections and hereditary factors. It has been estimated that when both parents have asthma or hay fever, in 75 to 100 per cent cases, the offspring also has allergic reactions. Source: ©️ 2021 https://www.facebook.com/drwizangwira

Treatment

Modern medical system has not been able to find a cure for this crippling disease. Drugs and vaccines have only limited value in alleviating symptoms. Most of these are habit forming and the dose has to be increased from time to time to give the same amount of relief. The frequent introduction of drugs in the system, while giving only temporary relief, tends to make asthma chronic and incurable. Allergy – which is the immediate cause of asthma – itself is an indication of lowered resistance and internal disharmony caused by faulty eating and bad habits. This is the root cause and the real cure lies in a return to nature. The natural way to treat asthma consists of stimulating the functioning of slack excretory organs, adopting appropriate diet patterns to eliminate morbid matter and reconstruct the body, and practicing yogasanas, yogic kriyas and pranayamas to permit proper assimilation of food and to strengthen the lungs, digestive system and circulatory organs. The patient should be given an enema to clean the colon and prevent auto-intoxication. Mud-packs applied to the abdomen will relieve the fermentation caused by undigested food and will promote intestinal peristalsis. Wet packs should be applied to the chest to relieve the congestion of the lungs and strengthen them. The patient should be made to perspire through steam bath, hot foot bath, hot hip bath and sun bath. This will stimulate the skin and relieve congested lungs. The patient should fast for a few days on lemon juice with honey and thereafter resort to a fruit juice diet to nourish the system and eliminate the toxins. Gradually, solid foods can be included. The patient should, however, avoid the common dietic errors. Ideally, his diet should contain a limited quantity of carbohydrates, fats and proteins which are acid-forming foods, and a liberal quantity of alkaline foods consisting of fresh fruits, green vegetables and germinated gram. Foods which tend to produce phelgm such as rice, sugar, lentils and curds as also fried and other difficult- to- digest foods should be avoided. Breakfast may consist of prunes, orange or berries or a few black raisins with honey. Lunch and dinner should consist of a salad of raw vegetables such as cucumber, lettuce, tomato, carrot and beets, one or two lightly cooked green vegetables and wheat bread. The last meal should preferably be taken before sunset or at least two hours before going to bed. Asthamtics should always eat less than their capacity. They should eat slowly, chewing their food properly. They should drink eight to 10 glasses of water a day, but should avoid taking water or any liquid with meals. Spices, chillies and pickles, too much tea and coffee should also be avoided. Asthma, particularly when the attack is severe, tends to destroy the appetite. IN such cases, do not force the patient to eat. He should be kept on fast till the attack is over. He should, however, take a cup of warm water every two hours. An enema taken at that time will be very beneficial. Honey is considered highly beneficial in the treatment of asthma. It is said that if a jug of honey is held under the nose of an asthma patient and he inhales the air that comes into contact with the honey, he starts breathing easier and deeper. The effect lasts for about an hour or so. This is because honey contains a mixture of ‘higher’ alcohols and ethereal oils and the vapors given off by them are soothing and beneficial to the asthma patient. Honey usually brings relief whether the air flowing over it is inhaled or whether it is eaten or taken either in milk or water. It thins out accumulated mucous and helps its elimination from the respiratory passages. It also tones up the pulmonary parenchyma and thereby prevents the production of mucous in future. Some authorities recommend one year old honey for respiratory disease. Another effective remedy for asthma is garlic. The patient should be given daily garlic cloves boiled in thirty gms of milk as a cure for early stage of asthma. Steaming ginger tea with minced garlic cloves in it, can also help to keep the problem under control and should be taken both in the morning and evening. Turmeric is also regarded as an effective remedy for bronchial asthma. The patient should be given a teaspoonful of turmeric powder with a glass of milk two or three times daily. It acts best when taken on an empty stomach. During the attack, mustard oil mixed with little camphor should be massaged over the back of the chest. This will loosen up phelgm and ease breathing. The patient should also inhale steam from the boiling water with caraway seeds, known as ajwain in the vernacular. It will dilate the bronchial passage. The patient should also follow the other laws of nature. Air sun and water are great healing agents. Regular fasting once a week, an occasional enema, breathing exercises, fresh air, dry climate, light exercises and a correct posture go a long way in treating the disease. The patient should perform meditation are also highly beneficial. The patient should avoid dusty places, exposure to cold, foods to which he is sensitive, mental worries and tensions. Asthmatic should be made to feel that they are not sick, and with slight adjustments, can live a full life. Source: ©️ 2021 https://www.facebook.com/drwizangwira

Maca Root

Why We Love Maca: Top Benefits of this Amazing Adaptogenic Herb

Plants are powerful sources of nutrients. They provide essential nourishment to your body and can support specific functions.* Maca root is one such plant.*

This superfood has been grown and used in some parts of the world for centuries and is slowly gaining popularity all over.

In this article, we’ll introduce you to the origins of Maca root, some of its benefits, and suggest a few ways (and interesting recipes) to make Maca root part of your diet.

What is Maca Root?

As a caffeine-free, plant-based superfood, it’s hard not to love Maca. Not only can Maca root contribute to overall well-being, but it is also believed to balance hormone levels, maintain energy, and support a healthy libido.*

This versatile adaptogenic herb helps the body adapt and deal with different stressors so you can live a well-balanced life.* And it’s safe and easy to add to your everyday routine.

illustration showing where maca root comes from

Maca, Lepidium meyenii, is an indigenous Andean vegetable that has been grown and cultivated as a root crop for at least 2,000 years.

Used both nutritionally and medicinally, Maca grows wild in Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay, and Argentina, but has primarily been cultivated in the highlands of the Peruvian Andes.

Even though Maca has become quite popular in the last decade — and deservedly so — it has been used as an important food since the days of the Inca warriors in Peru.* Maca looks similar to radishes or turnips and the roots can be various colors such as yellow, purple, or black.

Defining Adaptogenic Herbs

Maca root

We mentioned above that Maca is an adaptogenic herb, but before we move on, we’d like to explain just what that means.

Jennifer Pottruff, DBM, DNM, DO, says that adaptogenic herbs (or adaptogens) are “defined as agents that support the body’s ability to accommodate varying physical and emotional stresses.”1

It could also be said that these are plants with a nonspecific action that “exert a normalizing influence on the body.”2

Adaptogenic herbs have traditionally been used in Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine and are still used to support energy levels and the stress response system.*1

In addition to Maca root, there are other popular adaptogenic herbs, and even mushrooms, including:

  • American Ginseng
  • Reishi mushroom
  • Eleuthero
  • Schisandra
  • Holy Basil
  • Ashwagandha

American Ginseng is an herb that has a history of use among Native Americans, while Reishi and Eleuthero are adaptogens used in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Finally, Schisandra berries, Holy Basil, and Ashwagandha are other popular adaptogens that many around the world turn to help them deal with stress.*

At Gaia Herbs, we’ve combined a blend of six beneficial adaptogenic herbs in our Everyday Adaptogen™ formula — and left out added fillers, flavors, and sweeteners. Simply add one teaspoon, once a day, to your beverage of choice to maintain peak performance.*

Now let’s get back to Maca root, the adaptogen at hand, and the many benefits it has to offer.

Benefits of Maca Root

Maca Root May Support Energy and Mood*

Maca root has been shown to provide sustained energy throughout the day without the jittery crash of caffeine, which can help you feel more awake so you’re able to focus on the things that matter.*

Maca has also been shown to help athletesmaintain their energy. In one study, benefits were seen in a 40 kilometer cycling time trial after two weeks of Maca extract supplementation.3

What does Maca root have to do with mood? By maintaining positive energy levels throughout the day, Maca may also help improve mood.*

Maca Root May Support a Healthy Libido*

Couple holding hands

Known as a prized aphrodisiac, Maca root supports men’s health and optimizes healthy performance.*

Maca has been shown in clinical studies to support men’s reproductive health, including healthy sexual libido and function as well as normal prostate function throughout many ages and stages of life.*

But it’s not just beneficial for men. In fact, an article by Harvard Health Publishing notes:

“At MGH [Massachusetts General Hospital], we have conducted two preliminary studies that suggest Maca root extracts may boost libido, particularly in postmenopausal women.”5

Maca Root May Support Sperm Function

Regarding male reproductive health, Maca root has another potential benefit — in one study, it showed improved sperm function.*

In this study performed on rats, black and yellow Maca were found to increase sperm count and movement. The same results were found in a study with nine human male participants.4

Although this needs to be studied further for conclusive results, this was an exciting early finding for men’s reproductive health.*

Maca Root Has a Long History of Use for Supporting Women’s Reproductive Function

Illustration of maca root

As we alluded to earlier, the benefits Maca root provides in the bedroom aren’t reserved only for men.* This herb is also believed to tonify the female reproductive system, support arousal and sexual desire, and may also help with fertility.*

Because of this, we turned to Maca root, along with other herbs, to formulate Gaia Herbs Women’s Libido, which supports a healthy drive to help women maintain their spark.*

These vegan Liquid Phyto-Caps® also contain Horny Goat Weed and Gaia-grown® Oats, which are extracted fresh immediately after harvest to preserve full spectrum compounds for optimal potency.*

If you’re unfamiliar with the phrase “full-spectrum,” Jeremy Stewart, Gaia Herbs Chief Scientist and Vice President of Scientific Affairs, describes it this way:

“Our full spectrum processing allows us to guarantee certain levels of constituents while simultaneously capturing all of the other naturally occurring compounds in the plant. Since our beginning over thirty years ago, our philosophy has been to use full spectrum extracts, representing the whole plant as Nature intended, versus other companies that choose to use single, chemically isolated compounds in their products.*”

Maca root provides other benefits for womenin every life stage, as well. First, it has been shown to help support hormonal issues, including PMS, menopause, and hot flashes.*

It has also been studied clinically to support a balanced transition through menopause, and it does so without particularly influencing sex hormone levels.* Studies have shown that Maca may also support psychological health and sexual function in postmenopausal women.*

Maca Root May Help Balance Hormone Levels

Many people think only of the reproductive organs when they think of “hormones.” But the truth is that hormones come from endocrine glands all over your body.

Hormones constantly play a part in many processes including metabolism, cognitive function, mood, and regulation of hunger and thirst.6

By nourishing the adrenal glandsMaca Rootcan help maintain balanced hormone levels.* As an adaptogenic herb, Maca supports normal hormone production and supports the body’s natural liver detoxification.*

Maca Root is a Superfood

Illustration showing vitamins and minerals of maca root

Maca root is a nutritional powerhouse, providing key macro and micronutrients, and unique plant compounds to support an active human body.

When it comes to macronutrients, dry Maca is 59% carbohydrates, 10.2% proteins, 8.5% fiber, and 2.2% lipids.7

As far as micronutrients go, Maca root is an excellent source of vitamins and minerals, including vitamin C, copper, and zinc. And, compared to white potatoes, Maca root boasts higher levels of iron and calcium.7 It contains all eight essential amino acids and plenty of phytonutrients, too.

How to Make Maca Root Part of Your Diet

As we’ve seen, Maca root is loaded with nutrients and provides many benefits.

The good news is that you don’t have to move to the Andes to make this plant a part of your diet. There are a few easy ways to incorporate Maca root into your life.

Take a Maca Root Supplement

The simplest way to add Maca root to your diet is to take it in supplement form.

Gaia Herbs Maca Root is pure Maca root in a vegan capsule. Our organic Maca roots are slowly sun-dried according to traditional methods, which promotes an optimal amount of final bioactive compounds.*

Bottle of Maca Root from Gaiga Herbs

And, unlike raw Maca powder, Gaia Herbs Maca powder has undergone gelatinization, which is a steam and pressure extraction method that transforms the active constituents. This process results in Maca Powder that is more easily digestible.*

Gaia’s gelatinization methods are aligned with the way this root has been traditionally consumed by the indigenous people of the Andes, where it has always been cooked before eating. Our process does not involve the use of gelatin, making this product 100% vegan.

To support healthy energy, stamina, and peak performance, simply take one capsule two times daily between meals.*

Nature Health

Nature Cure

Nature cure is a constructive method of treatment which aims at removing the basic cause of disease through the rational use of the elements freely available in nature. It is not only a system of healing, but also a way of life, in tune with the internal vital forces or natural elements comprising the human body. It is a complete revolution in the art and science of living.

Nature cure is based on the realisation that man is born healthy and strong and that he can stay as such as living in accordance with the laws of nature. Even if born with some inherited affliction, the individual can eliminate it by putting to the best use the natural agents of healing. Fresh air, sunshine, a proper diet, exercise, scientific relaxation, constructive thinking and the right mental attitude, along with prayer and meditation all play their part in keeping a sound mind in a sound body.

logo.png

Nature cure believes that disease is an abnormal condition of the body resulting from the violation of the natural laws. Every such violation has repercussions on the human system in the shape of lowered vitality, irregularities of the blood and lymph and the accumulation of waste matter and toxins. Thus, through a faulty diet it is not the digestive system alone which is adversely affected. When toxins accumulate, other organs such as the bowels, kidneys, skin and lungs are overworked and cannot get rid of these harmful substances as quickly as they are produced.

Nature cure is based on the realization that man is born healthy and strong and that he can stay as such as living in accordance with the laws of nature.

4633200707.jpg

Besides this, mental and emotional disturbances cause imbalances of the vital electric field within which cell metabolism takes place, producing toxins. When the soil of this electric filed is undisturbed, disease-causing germs can live in it without multiplying or producing toxins. It is only when it is disturbed or when the blood is polluted with toxic waste that the germs multiply and become harmful.

BASIC PRINCIPLES OF NATURE CURE

The first and most basic principle of nature cure is that all forms of disease are due to the same cause, namely, the accumulations of waste materials and bodily refuse in the system. These waste materials in the healthy individual are removed from the system through the organs of elimination. But in the diseased person, they are steadily piling up in the body through years of faulty habits of living such as wrong feeding, improper care of the body and habits contributing to enervation and nervous exhaustion such as worry, overwork and excesses of all kinds. It follows from this basic principle that the only way to cure disease is to employ methods which will enable the system to throw off these toxic accumulations. All natural treatments are actually directed towards this end.

The second basic principle of nature cure is that all acute diseases such as fevers, colds, inflammations, digestive disturbances and skin eruptions are nothing more than self-initiated efforts on the part of the body to throw off the accumulated waste materials and that all chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, rheumatism, asthma, kidney disorders, are the results of continued suppression of the acute diseases through harmful methods such as drugs, vaccines, narcotics and gland extracts.

The third principle of nature cure is that the body contains an elaborate healing mechanism which has the power to bring about a return to normal condition of health, provided right methods are employed to enable it to do so. In other words, the power to cure disease lies within the body itself and not in the hands of the doctor.

6 Best Natural Antioxidants For Boosting Immune System

What Are Antioxidants?

The immune system is our body’s natural defense against disease causing micro-organisms. It identifies any foreign element like bacteria or viruses that invade the body and destroys them effectively.

But in some cases, the defense mechanism of the immune system is lowered or weakened due to excessive oxidative stress and damage caused by free radicals. This is where the health benefits of antioxidants come into play.

Antioxidants help in fighting free radical damage by increasing the production of antibodies and white blood cells that boost the immune system.

It also increased the production of B-cells and T-cells that fights the foreign elements and revokes the damage caused by toxins.

Results of a Weak Immune System

Weakened immune system can lead to several diseases and health conditions such as:

  • Asthma and allergies
  • Immune Deficiency Diseases
  • Autoimmune Diseases such as Rheumatoid arthritis, Lupus, IBS (Inflammatory Bowel Syndrome), etc.

Antioxidant Rich Foods:

The best way to boost the immune system is to supply it with powerful antioxidants that help in recovering the cell damage caused by free radicals. Some of the most effective natural sources of antioxidants are as follows:

Green Tea:

Green tea is a rich source of polyphenols, powerful plant source of best natural antioxidants that play an important role in boosting immunity.

The natural chemical catechin, a specific kind of polyphenol present in green tea works effectively in fighting influenza virus.

Green Tea

The most powerful antioxidants in green tea is EGCG (epigallocatechin) that works more effectively than vitamin E and C in preventing cell damage and protecting their genetic material. It also helps prevent various types of cancers, improve IBS (Inflammatory Bowel Syndrome), control blood sugar levels in the blood and promote weight loss.

Green tea extract has been shown to prevent rheumatoid arthritis.

The use of antioxidants of green tea can be utilized either directly from the tea or from antioxidant supplements that contain green tea as one of their active ingredients.

Grape Seed Extract:

Grape seed extract is a rich source of antioxidants that help in strengthening and it has vitamins to improve immune system.

Grape Seed Extract

The flavonoid phytonutrients present in grape seed extract along with the polyphenol resveratrol helps in protecting the cells and the DNA against the harmful effects of the free radicals. It helps in improving blood and oxygen circulation throughout the body and improves collagen formation in skin cells that prevent premature aging of the skin.

Grape seed extract also helps in boosting the functions of the Th2 immune system. In addition, grape seed extract also prevents other health conditions like heart diseases, arthritis, osteoporosis, edema, eye problems and digestive problems.

Combined Benefits of Green Tea and Grape Seed Extract:

Green Tea and Grape Seed Extract

Although it is possible to utilize the health benefits of grape seed extracts from grape seed oil, the most effective way of boosting the immune system with grape seed extract is using it orally in the form of tablets or supplements. This can be done with BODYLE B1 Antioxidants CAPSULES that are prepared from a combination of various effective antioxidants such as green tea extract, grape seed extract, lycopene along with essential vitamins to improve immune system and minerals that not only improves immunity, but also protects the cells against free radical damage, improves blood circulation and works as an effective anti-aging agent.

Tomatoes:

Ripe juicy tomatoes not only make great sauces and salads but acts as an effective immunity enhancer. The lycopene present in tomatoes is a carotenoid that is responsible for its bright red color.

Tomatoes

Lycopene plays an important role in reviving weakened immune system and reducing the risk of prostate and lung cancer. It also protects the DNA of the immune cells against oxidative stress and the harmful effects of free radicals.

Lycopene controls the level of cholesterol in the blood and prevents chronic health conditions like osteoporosis, cardiovascular diseases, high blood pressure and diabetes.

Garlic:

Garlic

This common culinary ingredient is well known for its strong flavors and the health benefits of garlic need no new emphasis. It is also considered to be as the best natural antioxidants.

Medicinal value of garlic is immense, and it has been used for ages for treating various ailments and health conditions. It is a powerful immunity boosting food that has an amazing infection-fighting capacity.

The compounds allicin, ajoene and thiosulfinates present in garlic helps the immune system to fight infection-causing bacteria, viruses, and fungi. It stimulates the growth of white blood cells and stimulates the production of an antibody that fights infections and diseases.

The antioxidant in garlic reduces oxidative stress and revokes the damage caused by free radicals. It improves cardiovascular health by preventing the platelets from sticking together and keeping the blood vessels unblocked.

While chewing 2-3 cloves of garlic daily is an effective way of boosting immunity, most people will not want to try it because of its overpowering smell.

It is possible to derive the benefits of garlic while cutting out the smell by consuming garlic oil in the form of oral capsules or supplements.

BODYLIFE Garlic Oil Capsule is a 100% natural and safe way of boosting immunity effectively.

Each liquid filled capsule contains 500mg of pure garlic oil that helps in improving immune defense, digestive health, controlling cholesterol level in blood and reducing acidity.

 Berries:

Dark berries are a great source of bioflavonoids, phytochemicals and vitamin C that works as powerful antioxidants that prevents cell damage and recovers the damage caused by harmful free radicals.

Berries

Anthocyanins present in dark berries such as blackcurrants, blueberries and blackberries protect against the inflammation of macrophages. This is extremely important because macrophages play a vital role in proper immune functioning and damaged macrophages lead to poor immune functioning and premature aging.

It is best to consume a mixture of various kinds of berries rather than sticking to any one type for optimum working of the immune system.

Organic Eggs:

Organic eggs are one of the best sources of high-quality nutrients, proteins and fats that help in improving immunity.

It is packed with essential amino acids, lutein, zeaxanthin, choline, vitamin A, E, B12, carotene, tryptophan, omega 3 fatty acids and antioxidants all of which helps in proper functioning of the immune system.

Organic Eggs

While the proteins rejuvenate the damaged cells, tissues, muscles and internal organs, lutein and zeaxanthin helps in improving eye health, choline improves brain functions and workings of the nervous and cardio-vascular system. Load up on these naturally available antioxidants or derive their benefits from supplements and prevent nagging flu, fever, asthma, allergies and autoimmune diseases such as Type 1 Diabetes, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Lupus.

Understanding the highs and lows of your blood pressure reading

Blood pressure is a key indicator of how well the cardiovascular system is functioning and can signal many diseases and conditions.

“It measures the pressure of blood flow to the vascular system. This is necessary for all the organs in the body to receive adequate nutrition and oxygen to function,”

There is a healthy blood pressure range, and having too high or too low blood pressure can cause serious, long-term health consequences. Unfortunately, the importance of healthy blood pressure often is overlooked, and many people with poor blood pressure may not realize they’re at risk.

Decoding your blood pressure reading

An optimal blood pressure range is at or less than 120/80 mmHg. This is what those numbers mean:

  • The top number (120) is your “systolic blood pressure.” It indicates how much pressure the blood is exerting while the heart is actively pumping into the blood vessels.
  • The bottom number (80) is your “diastolic blood pressure.” It indicates how much pressure the blood is exerting between pumps. “Diastolic blood pressure is the baseline pressure in the blood vessels when the heart is resting,” Dr Wiza said.
  • “mmHg” is the abbreviation for “millimeters of mercury.” Mercury is used to gauge pressure in many medical measurements.

Which number is most important?

Both. Having a high number in either systolic or diastolic pressure can lead to a diagnosis of hypertension (high blood pressure). However, systolic pressure tends to get more attention because high systolic blood pressure is a risk factor for cardiovascular disease for people over 50, and it can indicate major cardiac events.

Also note: Heart rate and blood pressure are not the same, and they can indicate different issues. The American Heart Association reports that blood pressure measures the force that blood moves through blood vessels, and heart rate measures the amount of times your heart beats per minute. Having a healthy heart rate does not necessarily mean your blood pressure is in a healthy range. Both measurements are important, but one does not replace the other.

Hypertension (high blood pressure)

Hypertension, the clinical term for high blood pressure, is a common and dangerous condition. “It causes persistent strain on both the heart and the blood vessels, which can lead to serious dysfunction,” Dr Wiza said. “This can manifest as weakening of the heart, as well as damage to the blood vessels, causing various organ failure in the long-term.”

There may be some symptoms that accompany hypertension — such as fatigue, shortness of breath and headaches — but in general, the condition shows no typical symptoms.

Hypertension can cause stroke, acute kidney failure, heart attack and blindness, among other ailments.

Risk factors for hypertension include age, high body weight, low activity level, poor diet, smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, high stress levels, certain chronic diseases (including diabetes) and a family/personal history with the condition.

Blood pressure naturally gets higher with age. In people younger than 60, 140/90 mmHg is considered high, but in people older than 60, 150/90 mmHg is acceptable.

What about low blood pressure?

Hypotension, or low blood pressure, is less common than hypertension, but it can cause serious health consequences. Chronic low blood pressure is associated with organ failure because not enough oxygen can circulate throughout the body.

When to get blood pressure readings

“A normal person who has never has high blood pressure does not require regular readings beyond their yearly check-ups,” Dr Wiza said. “Patients with a history of hypertension should be checked more frequently.” Talk to your doctor about how often you should have your blood pressure checked, and follow that schedule closely.

Habits for promoting healthy blood pressure

Blood pressure is greatly influenced by lifestyle, so most healthy people can properly manage blood pressure without medical intervention.

“Keeping body weight within a normal range, eating a heart-healthy diet, decreasing mental stress and having a regular aerobic exercise routine can have a profound effect on blood pressure,” Dr Wiza said.

Alkaline Diet

Alkaline Diet Foods

By Dr Wiza Ngwira

The Promise

It’s a pitch Hollywood celebs love: that the alkaline diet — also known as the alkaline ash diet or alkaline acid diet — can help you lose weight and avoid problems like arthritis and cancer. The theory is that some foods, like meat, wheat, refined sugar, and processed foods, cause your body to produce acid, which is bad for you.

So, according to the “science” behind this diet, eating specific foods that make your body more alkaline can protect against those conditions as well as shed pounds. The alkaline diet really rocketed into the news when Victoria Beckham tweeted about an alkaline diet cookbook in January 2013.

What You Can and Can’t Eat

Most fruits and vegetables, soybeans and tofu, and some nuts, seeds, and legumes are alkaline-promoting foods, so they’re fair game.

Dairy, eggs, meat, most grains, and processed foods, like canned and packaged snacks and convenience foods, fall on the acid side and are not allowed.

Most books that tout the alkaline diet say you shouldn’t have alcohol or caffeine, either.

Level of Effort: High

You’ll be cutting out a lot of foods you may be used to eating.

Limitations: Many foods are off-limits, and so are alcohol and caffeine.

Cooking and shopping: You can get fruits and vegetables at the grocery store. It may take a while to learn how to prep and cook your meals when you use fresh foods.

In-person meetings: No.

Exercise: Not required.

Does It Allow for Restrictions or Preferences?

Vegetarians and vegans: This diet is mostly to become completely vegetarian. It also works for vegans, in that dairy is off-limits.

Gluten-free: The diet excludes wheat, but to avoid gluten completely, you’ll need to check food labels carefully, as gluten is not just in wheat.

Besides wheat, the diet nixes most of the other major triggers for food allergies, including milk, eggs, peanuts, walnuts, fish, and shellfish. It’s also good for people who are trying to avoid fat and sugar.

What Else You Should Know

Cost: Many websites with information about the alkaline diet also sell courses, books, supplements, and alkaline-infused water, food, and drinks. You do not need to buy these things to follow the alkaline diet. There are many free alkaline food charts online that list foods you can buy at the grocery store.

Support: This is a diet you do on your own.

What Dr. Wiza Ngwira Says:

Does It Work?

Maybe, but not for the reasons it claims.

First, a little chemistry: A pH level measures how acid or alkaline something is. A pH of 0 is totally acidic, while a pH of 14 is completely alkaline. A pH of 7 is neutral. Those levels vary throughout your body. Your blood is slightly alkaline, with a pH between 7.35 and 7.45. Your stomach is very acidic, with a pH of 3.5 or below, so it can break down food. And your urine changes, depending on what you eat — that’s how your body keeps the level in your blood steady.

The alkaline diet claims to help your body maintain its blood pH level. In fact, nothing you eat is going to substantially change the pH of your blood. Your body works to keep that level constant.

But the foods you’re supposed to eat on the alkaline diet are good for you and will support a healthy weight loss: lots of fruits and vegetables, and lots of water. Avoiding sugar, alcohol, and processed foods is healthy weight-loss advice, too.

As to the other health claims, there’s some early evidence that a diet low in acid-producing foods like animal protein (such as meat and cheese) and bread and high in fruits and veggies could help prevent kidney stones, keep bones and muscles strong, improve heart health and brain function, reduce low back pain, and lower risk for type 2 diabetes. But researchers aren’t sure of some of these claims yet.

People who believe in the alkaline diet say that though acid-producing foods shift our pH balance for only a little while, if you keep shifting your blood pH over and over, you can cause long-lasting acidity.

Is It Good for Certain Conditions?’

Following an alkaline diet means choosing fruits and vegetables over higher-calorie, higher-fat choices. You will also shun prepared foods, which often have a lot of sodium.

That’s great news for heart health because these steps help lower blood pressure and cholesterol, which are big risk factors for heart disease.

Getting to a healthy weight is also important in preventing and treating diabetes and osteoarthritis.

Some studies have found that an alkaline environment may make certain chemotherapydrugs more effective or less toxic. But it has not been shown that an alkaline diet can do this or help prevent cancer. If you have cancer, talk to your doctor or dietitian about your nutritional needs before starting any type of diet.

The Final Word

The emphasis on fruits and vegetables that is at the core of alkaline diets offers the promise of healthy weight loss. No special gear or supplements are required.

You’ll have the best success with it if you like to choose and experiment with new foods and love to cook.

But following an alkaline diet will be tough for many people.

A lot of favorite foods that are allowed in moderation in other plans (including lean meat, low-fat dairy, bread, and sweets) are forbidden here. Protein is limited to plant-based sources such as beans and tofu. This means you will have to make sure you get enough protein and calcium.

Eating out also can be a challenge. If you travel a lot for work or have a busy schedule, you might feel bogged down by all the food selection and prep.

Finally, many alkaline diets fail to address a major factor in weight loss and wellness success: exercise. You should include fitness in any healthy eating plan that you choose. At least 150 minutes of exercise each week. If you have any medical problems or are out of shape, talk to your doctor first.

Is Bill and Melinda Gates foundation really good?

Bill Gates explaining solution to over-population – depopulation through vacines and medical care system

Bill-Gates-vaccine-depopulation-program-or-how-to-solve-the-over-population-with-vaccines

While checking some videos on the net I’ve came across information that Bill Gates bough 500 000 shares from Monsanto.

Gates is a well know for being Philantrophist, giving large amounts of charities aiming to fight the hunger in Africa through his and his life charity foundation Bill and Melinda Gates. This charity looks like something perfect on a first glimpse as of September 2011 he has donated $33 billions to the foundation which is trying to help Africans to fight hunger diseases, find cure for HIV etc.

The methodology to help the hungry and sick people in africa is done via distribution of food grown and vaccination and helping the “poor” people in Africa get some education. It all sounds like a very good deed and one can say “what a good man of honour” GAtes is.

Well this would have been true only if Gates didn’t said it clear in TED’s show that vacination is one of the ways which can be used to battle the over population and increased need for food, medical service and energy.

See the short video below:

Bill Gates suggests Depopulation Through Vaccines on a talk on TED show

I don’t think it is too likely gates made an error in saying what he said on the presentation, obviously it was a clearly prepared presentation for the show and what he said was exactly what he meant. Now put aside the vacination of africa along with the likeness that a lot of latest drug medicine are probably injected in many unknowing Africans used as a guinea pig and you understand that this $33 Billion are given for eradication of large and testing of medicals on large population uneducated mass in Africa.

Not that I say vacination is necessery bad as one could think. From the few videos, I’ve seen with Gates rationalizing on various world problems one can come easily to the conclusion that Gates has a strong Utalitarian mindset. If you’re not aware of Utilitarianism frightening philosophy see here

DEPOPULATION EFFORTS RESEARCHERS

NOW BELIEVE THAT virtualy everyone in North America—and perhaps the world—carries the crysta line pathogen, although no symptoms wi l become apparent until the latter stages of some serious disease. Many conspiracy theorists believed in early 2009 that something within the swine flu vaccinations would trigger the pathogen. Swine flu, officia ly a new strain of the H1N1 influenza virus, was first identified in the spring of 2009 folowing an outbreak in Mexico. Oddly, although the strain contains a combination of genes from swine, avian (bird), and human influenza viruses, it cannot be spread by eating pork or pork products, leading many suspicious persons to suspect that swine flu is of human manufacture. Some theorists also believed that the spread of the health-destroying mycoplasma toxin fits wel with the agenda of the wealthy elite who have long supported eugenics and have been looking for ways to cul the human herd of “useless eaters.” Many cite a classified study made by the U.S. National Security Council under Henry Kissinger in 1974, entitled “National Security Study Memorandum (NSSM) 200: Implications of Worldwide Population Growth for U.S. Security and Overseas Interests.” This study, also known as the Kissinger Report, stated that population growth in the so-caled lesserdeveloped countries (LDCs) represented a serious threat to U.S. national security. The study was adopted as official policy in November 1975 by unelected president Gerald R. Ford. In a 1981 interview concerning overpopulation, former ambassador to South Vietnam and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maxwel Taylor, after advocating population reduction through limited wars, disease, and starvation, blithely concluded, “I have already written off more than a bi lion people. These people are in places in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. We can’t save them.

The population crisis and the food-supply question dictate that we should not even try. It’s a waste of time.” As if he were reading from Taylor’s script, England’s Prince Philip was quoted in People magazine as saying, “Human population growth is probably the single most serious long-term threat to survival. We’re in for a major disaster if it isn’t curbed—not just for the natural world, but for the human world. The more people there are, the more resources they’ l consume, the more polution they’ l create, the more fighting they wi l do. We have no option. If it isn’t contro led voluntarily, it wi l be contro led involuntarily by an increase in disease, starvation and war.” Years later, Philip mused, “In the event that I am reincarnated, I would like to return as a deadly virus, in order to contribute something to solve overpopulation.”

In the early 1970s, Associate Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg may have echoed the views of Ivy League intelectuals when she said she believed the Roe v. Wade abortion decision was predicated on the Supreme Court majority’s desire to diminish “populations that we don’t want to have too many of.” She added that it was her expectation that the right to abortion created in Roe “was going to be then set up for Medicaid funding for abortion.” Where did Ginsburg get the idea that American policymaking elites were interested in decreasing undesirable populations? Some researchers suggested that Ginsburg, at some point, became acquainted with the writings of John Holdren or of like-minded people in the most militant branch of the population control movement. In 1977, Holdren was a young academic who helped antinatalist guru Paul Ehrlich and his wife, Anne, write Ecoscience: Population, Resources, Environment. Holdren’s work states, “If some individuals contribute to general social deterioration by overproducing children, and if the need is compeling, they can [could] be required by law to exercise reproductive responsibility—just as they can be required to exercise responsibility in their resourceconsumption patterns….” Expressing the desire for “a Planetary regime” by controling al human economic activity and interactions with the environment, the authors suggested the “power to enforce the agreed limits” on population growth by whatever means necessary. This includes involuntary sterilization, abortion, or even mass involuntary sterilization through the infiltration of sterilizing agents into public water supplies. Internet blogger and radio host Wiliam Norman Grigg pointed out that amid the Obama administration’s efforts to impose centralized “universal” health care, John Holdren sits as Barack Obama’s “science czar,” in which he counsels the president on the role of science in public policy. “This relationship has a certain Strangelovian undercurrent, given Holdren’s enthusiasm for eugenicist and totalitarian methods of population ‘management,’” he noted.

Prolific author G. Edward Griffin, best known for his book on the Federal Reserve, The Creature from Jekyl Island, also voiced concern over Holdren’s thoughts on martial law and depopulation. Noting Holdren’s advocacy of forced abortions and putting sterilization chemicals in the water supply, Griffin stated that Holdren discussed the possibility of reducing the population by insidious means. “He was not concerned with the ethical or freedom issues involved with these measures, only their practicality. Now we find this same man, an academic expert on population reduction, at the right hand of the President of The United States, advocating mass vaccination against the Swine Flu using vaccines that half of the medical profession believes are unsafe…. Remember, al of those who hold power in the governments of the world today are colectivists [selfstyled globalists], and the guiding rule of co lectivism is that individuals and minorities must be sacrificed, if necessary, for the greater good of the state or of society. Of course, those who rule wil decide what the greater good is and who is to be sacrificed,” Griffin said. This, of course, is the basic problem with population control. The idea of limiting the burgeoning Earth population is probably desirable, as the increasing number of humans as wel as their waste is placing a strain on the planet. The rub comes with the question of who wil decide which segments of the population must forgo childbearing for the good of the majority. So far, it is the wealthy elite— the globalists—who have taken the lead in creating ways of holding down population growth through eugenics, drugs, and birth-control measures. Former assistant secretary of housing Catherine Austin Fitts agreed with Griffin that one of the globalists’ goals is depopulation. “Perhaps it is the goal of a swine flu epidemic as wel, whether bio-warfare or hype around a flu season,” she warned. “I keep remembering my sense of urgency leaving the Bush administration in 1991. We had to do something to turn around the economy and gather real assets behind retirement plans and the social safety net. If not, Americans could find themselves deeply out on a limb. I felt my family and friends were in danger. They did not share my concern. They had a deep faith in the system. As my efforts to find ways of reengineering government investment in communities failed to win political support, Washington and Wal Street moved forward with a debt bubble and globalization that was horrifying in its implications for humanity.
“Overwhelmed by what was happening, I estimated the end result. My simple calculations guessed that we were going to achieve economic sustainability on

Earth by depopulating down to a population of approximately 500 mi lion people from our then current global population of 6 bilion [by 2009, 7.7 bilion]. I was…used to looking at numbers from a very high level. To me, we had to have radical change in how we governed resources or depopulate. It was a mathematical result.” Fitts noted than some government budget analysts have concluded that the nation can no longer afford previously assumed social safety nets like Social Security and Medicare. “That is, unless you change the actuarial assumptions in the budget—like life expectancy,” she said. “Lowering immune systems and increasing toxicity levels combined with poor food, water and terrorizing stress wi l help do the trick. A plague can so frighten and help control people that they wi l accept the end of their current benefits (and the resulting implications to life expectancy) without objection. And a plague with proper planning can be highly profitable. Whatever the truth of what swine flu is or vaccines rushed into production without proper testing and peer review, it is a way to keep control in a situation that is quickly shifting out of control.”

Coronavirus: What do we know about the artemisia plant?

Madagascar attracted a lot of attention in April when the African island nation announced it was using a local plant to combat coronavirus.

A drink using artemisia plant extracts was promoted by its leader, President Andry Rajoelina.

There’s no evidence so far that this plant – whose compounds do work against malaria – can combat Covid-19, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).

So what do we know about the plant and its properties?

Where does the plant come from?

Artemisia annua is originally from Asia, but grows in many other parts of the world with sunny and warm conditions.

It’s been used in Chinese traditional medicine for more than 2,000 years for treating a number of diseases, including malaria, as well as to relieve pain and combat fever.

In Chinese medicine, it is known as “qinghao.”

It is also called sweet wormwood or annual wormwood, and is used as an alternative therapy – and even put into some alcoholic drinks.

Could artemisia work against Covid-19?

President Rajoelina of Madagascar said in April this year that trials conducted on the Covid-Organics drink – which uses artemisia – showed its effectiveness against the disease. He repeated this claim in September.ADVERTISEMENTnull

But no evidence has been shown publicly for this.

And the exact composition of the drink is not known, although the government says more than 60% is derived from the artemisia plant.

Madagascar has also started producing capsules and a solution that can be injected, on which clinical trials have begun.

German and Danish scientists have been testing extracts from artemisia annua plants, which they say showed some effectiveness against the new coronavirus in a laboratory setting.

The research – which hasn’t been independently reviewed by other scientists – found that these extracts showed anti-viral activity when used with pure ethanol or distilled water.

These researchers are working with the University of Kentucky to carry out human clinical trials at some stage.

China has been conducting its own tests, based on traditional medicines that use the artemisia annua plant.

And scientists in South Africa have been doing laboratory tests on artemisia annua and another variety of the plant – artemisia afra – for effectiveness against Covid-19. But there are no results as yet.

What does the WHO say about artemisia?

The WHO says it hasn’t yet had detailed information about the Madagascar tests.ADVERTISEMENThttps://3aed477473f161386d952dbd86babaf2.safeframe.googlesyndication.com/safeframe/1-0-37/html/container.html?n=0

Jean-Baptiste Nikiema of the WHO’s Africa region told the BBC the organisation may get involved later on in trials – depending on what information they get about the early trials.

At the moment, the WHO says there is no evidence that artemisia-derived products work against Covid-19.

It adds that all medicinal plants “should be tested for efficacy and adverse side-effects” through rigorous clinical trials.

How is it used against malaria?

The active ingredient found in the dried leaves of artemisia annua is called artemisinin, and it does work against malaria.

Chinese scientists pioneered the discovery of its properties when they were searching for a cure for malaria in the 1970s.Video captionProfessor Lang Linfu

Artemisinin-based combination therapies – known for short as ACTs – are recommended by the WHO against malaria, especially those types now resistant to chloroquine, which is one of the main drug treatments for the disease.

ACTs contain derivatives of artemisinin combined with other substances, and these reduce the number of malaria parasites in the body.

Increased access to ACTs in malaria-endemic countries has been cited as a key factor in helping reduce the global toll of the disease in the last 15 years.

What are the risks of drug resistance?

Because artemisia annua extracts have started appearing more widely as remedies for malaria, such as in tea, there’s concern that unregulated usage could allow the malaria parasite to develop resistance.

There are a number of countries in south-east Asia where this resistance has already been observed.

“We know that over time the [malaria] parasite will start to resist, but this time [period] needs to be as long as possible,” says Jean-Baptiste Nikiema of the WHO.

The WHO now discourages the use of non-pharmaceutical forms of artemisinin, concerned that it could lead to growing malarial resistance.

CHOICES MAKE YOU – NOT INHERITED GENETICS

Genetic damage can be repaired. Even when people say “nothing can be done about it”. Amazing new discoveries are scientifically proving that almost anything is possible. The proper emotional mindset is the foundation. Eliminating deficiency and toxic stuff, then allows the body to self-repair, and what many consider nothing short of “miracles” starts to happen. Your moment to moment choices determine whether your cells become healthy or get sick. Don’t Blame your Parents Although we inherit genes from our parents, how we maintain and care for our genes determines everything. Maybe you inherited a junker, but you can strip it down and rebuild it.
Avoid: radiation from X rays, cell phones environmental chemicals food preservatives prescription drugs, anti-depressants, steroids, etc grilled, char-broiled, heated, cooked, fried or boiled foods Stress Sugar processed food It’s not the cards we are dealt, but how we play the game. If you are born sick, make yourself healthy.
Rebuild yourself into something new. The choice is YOURS. And your body will adapt.
Stop blaming your illnesses on aging or faulty genes rather than on its true cause. Maybe you are genetically predisposed to getting a certain condition, but proper lifestyle and nutrition will help determine if that condition will ever happen at all. Let’s compare you with a delicate wine glass.
Your “genetic” disposition is that if you fall, you break, just like all the other wine glasses that fell. And over many years of use, your odds will increase of breaking. But what if you took really good care and treated yourself like a rare museum piece- you could go for CENTURIES without ever breaking.
The choice is yours. Heredity is secondary to environment and you control your environment.
“People often give up on their genetic predispositions, relieving themselves- at least in their own minds- of responsibility for their actions. They say “There is nothing I can do, weight problems run in my family” (as they gulp down a burger, fries and large shake)
It’s bizarre that physicians put so much stock in the genetic origins of disease yet also inflict massive amounts of genetic damage with pharmaceutical chemicals and X-rays.”
Watch what you say and how you feel. Words have unbelievable power. Most people say things in a way that increases stress and turns the body’s PH from alkaline to acidic. Words are powerful- they totally change the way we think and feel and research has conclusively shown that is actually changes our DNA.
! If you are not well and keep doing what you have done in the past, you will continue to get worse. Forget the genetic thing. Take responsibility of your actions and health right now
“They must find it difficult… Those who have taken authority as the truth, Rather than truth as the authority”
